Course Overview

An introductory course designed to increase mental health awareness and give an understanding of how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis.

The course covers:

  • How to recognise the key signs and symptoms of common mental health conditions
  • How to provide appropriate initial support and reassurance
  • Guiding individuals towards suitable professional help and support services
  • Maintaining awareness of your own wellbeing and practice self-care
  • Developing an understanding of how to create and sustain a healthier workforce or community
  • Helping to reduce stigma associated with mental ill health
  • How to promote early intervention to support recovery and positive outcomes
