When it comes to rope access courses at NETA Training, learners join from a variety of industries with a whole host of different experience under their belts. Often looking to broaden their experience in the sector and support with more specialist projects, our latest rope access Bespoke Employed Led Programme (BELP), in partnership with Hightech Industrial Access, was perfect for exactly that, with guaranteed interviews upon successful completion.

Kurt was already working in rigging when he enrolled and wanted to develop additional skills to become more versatile in the industry. He said: “The course provided valuable training that increased my confidence and practical skills that could be applied across roles. I secured an interview with Hightech Industrial Access, gained employment, and I still use the skills I learned every single day.”

He is now focusing on additional qualifications to increase his prospects in the future, having built an excellent foundation for his career.

In contrast, Thomas was working in cladding before he started the rope access course. His key focus was increasing his earning potential and growing his skill set, ensuring that he was best placed to apply for a variety of roles within the construction and infrastructure sectors.

He said: “The support I received throughout the programme was spot on. The content challenged me in new ways, helping me grow both personally and professionally. Following the course, I returned to industry but was able to use my new qualification to secure a cladding role that specifically included rope access.”

David was out of work when he joined the programme, following over a decade in the close protection private security industry. For years he’d been encouraged by a friend who worked offshore to gain some more qualifications so he could broaden his career options. He said: “The course was more challenging than I expected, but in the best way. The teaching team were brilliant and made me want to keep going. By the end I was absolutely smashing it!

“I had an interview with Hightech Industrial Access at the end of the course and worked for them on a project maintaining a lighthouse. After that I did an offshore trip, and that’s something I’m looking to get back to, but for now I’m doing self-employed industrial cleaning for LRES in Sheffield, utilising the rope access skills I learned on the course.”

Lisa Wells, commercial training manager at NETA Training said: “Providing delegates with opportunities like this, where they can develop their skills, confidence and experience, and see clear, positive outcomes from their participation, is exactly what drives NETA’s collaborative work with Hightech Industrial Access. Seeing the impact these programmes have on individuals and their future opportunities makes partnerships like this so valuable.”

By providing practical skills, recognised qualifications, industry knowledge, and direct links to employers, Bespoke Employer Led Programmes (BELPS) help learners increase their employability, gain confidence, and access new opportunities.
