Introduction

Fabricators work with metal such as steel and aluminium, cutting, shaping and forming it to exact specifications and assemble components and structures from engineering drawings. Welding and flame cutting skills are also included.

Is it right for me

Depending on the craft area you choose you will learn how to read drawings, measure and mark out shapes i.e. square, rectangular, circular and irregular, how to use hand tools and drills, how to weld and the equipment used, and how to cut materials using oxy-fuel gas cutting equipment. On this course you will also gain your CCNSG Safety Passport. If you don’t already have your own company sponsor, our dedicated advisors at NETA Training can help you to contact local businesses.

What's next

Progression on to a higher level engineering qualification or go into full-time employment.
