COMMERCIAL CHANGEOVER RE-ASSESSMENT PACKAGE (inc TPCP:1/1A)

AIM

  • To provide operatives with the knowledge and understanding to safely install commission service and maintain commercial indirect/direct gas fired heating appliances
  • To carry out the installation of first fix commercial pipework
  • To carry out strength testing, tightness testing and direct purging in accordance with the procedures laid down in the Institution of Gas Engineers Utilisation Procedure (IGE/UP/1) and/or IGE/UP/1A

Pre-Requisite
Entrants must hold a valid certificate for the above or one that is within 12 months of its expiry date

5 days (2.5 training / 2.5 assessment)

Training Aids
Lecture notes, audio visual presentation and commercial gas appliances and models.

Assessment
Written and practical test in line with ACS accreditation.

Certification
On successful completion of the course candidates will receive a Logic certificate and identification card.

  • Characteristics of combustion and the use of Flue Gas Analysis Equipment
  • Commercial Ventilation Requirements
  • Installation of pipework and fittings including flanges, screwed, compression, capillary, polyethylene to steel, bellows and expansion joints
  • Tightness testing low pressure and medium pressure installations
  • The operation and positioning of emergency isolation controls and valves
  • Installation of all commercial indirect/direct fired gas appliances
  • Servicing of indirect/direct fired gas appliances and radiant heaters
  • The operation and checking of appliance gas safety controls and devices and other operational safety components
  • Commercial chimney requirements
  • The re-establishment of commercial pipework and appliance installations
  • Strength testing new pipework
  • Tightness testing new pipework installations
  • Direct purging new pipework installations by direct purging methods
  • Tightness testing existing installations
  • Direct purging existing installations by direct purging methods
