The 2356-99 NVQ 3 qualification has eight units (301-308) (Plus Unit 309 – AM2 Test)
To show consistency, the range of assessment activities will need to be covered over three separate occasions for each of the eight units that have both ‘Knowledge Evidence’ and ‘Performance Evidence’ requirements that need to be met (this does not necessarily mean 3 jobs).
Knowledge Evidence Requirements
- By providing copies of relevant technical qualifications, it is likely that you will have met most of these requirements. Completion of additional qualifications such as the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations will also help to demonstrate that your knowledge is current. Any gaps in your knowledge will be addressed through assessor questioning.
Performance Evidence Requirements
- These requirements will be met through assessment of your normal site work. You will need to demonstrate competent performance for each NVQ unit over a number of jobs covering a specified range of work. This will mostly be achieved by assessor observations (on-site), witness statements and recorded professional discussions with your assessor. Depending on your site location an additional cost could be incurred.
NETA is also a registered AM2 Centre and can provide both AM2 Revision Courses and AM2 Tests. The AM2 counts towards credits for your portfolio and therefore it is recommended that you undertake the AM2 on registering for this qualification.
