We have made the decision to cease face-to face learning for our study programme learners and apprentices on site at NETA Training from Monday 23rd March.

All students and learners have been given the relevant guidance to access online learning and full support will continue to be available remotely from course tutors. Our Etc. sites remain closed to all students, with the exception of a small number who have been contacted directly regarding attendance.

Following government directive, NETA Training will now be closed with immediate effect. Delegates/clients who have bookings in place which we know will be affected will be contacted directly by a member of our customer service team to rearrange.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience that has been caused but we hope you all fully understand this situation.

What happens if I have an interview booked?

Following government guidance, we are moving to telephone interviews in order to reduce the amount of face to face contact we have. We are sorry that we won’t get the chance to meet you in person but as you will appreciate, we take the safety of our students and prospective students very seriously.

If you have not already been contacted by telephone, we aim to speak to you within the coming weeks. If your contact details have changed please don’t hesitate to email us with your new details at

Will I be able to enrol if I don't have exam results?

Please rest assured that this will not jeopardise your allocation of a place here with us – your place is secure and we can’t wait for you to join us. You will be contacted regarding how to enrol, as normal, in due course.

When will the NETA reopen?

Currently, NETA will remain closed for most face-to-face learning until further notice. The only exceptions to this are those who have parents/guardians that have been classed as keyworkers and vulnerable children by the government.

Is there online learning available?

Yes, we have been working hard to provide all students and learners with the relevant guidance to access online learning and full support will continue to be provided remotely from your course tutors. If you are unsure, or have any questions, please contact your tutor through the usual email system.

How do I access online learning?

Your tutor should have already been in touch with you to advise you how to access the online learning resources. Please get in touch with your tutor through the usual email system if you are unsure or need some help.

Are open events still taking place?

Currently, all events have been placed on hold until further notice. We will continue to review this in line with the latest Government advice regarding large gatherings and school closures. Please keep checking our social media and website for any updates.

How will you update me about any changes?

We are constantly reviewing the current situation. Any changes will be posted on our website and social media platforms. Please keep checking regularly to stay up to date with our current position.

Will I have to re-sit my exams at a later date?

At the moment, we are waiting for the Government to outline their plans. As soon as we are updated, we will inform you of the details.

How will I apply in September with no GCSE results, since my school has cancelled exams?

We understand that this must be a worrying time for you, but remember, everyone is in the same boat. You can still apply for our courses either on our website and our expert team will help talk you through the process and explain all your options when it comes to enrolment.

What are the Enrolment Plans for New and Returning Students?

As a result of the need for social distancing and the health and safety of our staff and students being our priority, our teams are currently investigating the options for the safest enrolment ahead of the new academic year, starting in September.

We are looking towards a move to an online, distanced enrolment with full explanation and instruction. Additionally, to make the process as easy as possible for you, we are going to implement an online chat function so that there is always someone available to give you the enrolment support you need.

As more firm plans are put in place, we will be in touch with you to provide everything you need to enrol and start college life – we can’t wait to meet you, virtually or otherwise!

Can I ring NETA or my tutor?

Can I still apply for a full or part-time course and apprenticeships for this September?

Yes, we are still taking applications for our courses starting this September. You can apply quickly and easily through our website, 

Can I apply to study a distance learning/CPD course with Stockton Riverside College?

Yes, we offer a wide range of distance learning courses in areas including health, customer service, business admin, warehousing, team leading, mental health and data protection, to name but a few. You can study from the comfort of your own home and many are fully funded if you are aged 19+. For details and our full range of courses visit:

I have been invited to welcome days and explorer days but if these are cancelled will there be another opportunity for me to visit the College before I start in September?

We will hopefully have the opportunity to run explorer days later this summer. We understand that it is important to get a taste of what NETA is like before you enrol. We will continue to update you as and when we have new information on this.

Do you have any information about the renewals of Scaffolding Cards?

Should your CISRS Card be due for Renewal dispensation/flexibility will be given by the card provider CISRS who are also requesting employers be flexible should delegates have been affected due to centre closures.  CISRS Statement available on request from

Do you have any information about renewals of the CCNSG Cards?

Should your CCNSG Safety Passport card be due for renewal, ECITB are allowing additional time to complete this.  As standard delegates must complete their CCNSG Renewal course within 3 months of the expiry date on their card.  ECITB have now extended this grace period to 6 months.

Do you have any information about CompEx Certification?

Should your Compex Certification be due for renewal the standard process would be that delegates must complete renewal training prior to expiry.  JTL have agreed to issue delegates with a 3 month grace period on Certification.
