Summer Sizzler 2019

This year saw the return of our Summer Sizzler at NETA Training in Stockton. The event is part of our keep warm campaign which ensures students who have applied to start a course or apprenticeship at NETA in September are brought in for an afternoon of fun, sun and a burger in a bun.

Students were encouraged to bring along their family and friends as they popped down to NETA to chat to their tutors, meet their classmates, relax and chill out before the real work starts in September. We packed the afternoon full of exciting games and activities and some delicious food! Students were able to participate in a variety of outdoor games including the basketball challenge, a penalty shootout and the archery wild west shootout range.

We also invited along the Battle-Bus UK which was a great hit with all of our students, parents (and staff).

Attendees were given free food vouchers for Blackwell’s Catering from Norton who brought along their BBQ van which served the most mouth-watering burgers and sausages with a few little BBQ extras and as you can see the food got a big thumbs up from everyone, including a little special visitor Eleven.

We also had the most scrumptious ice creams served by Mikey’s Ices and despite the little shower that decided to pay us a visit, the ice creams went down a storm!

Each student was given a welcome box which we packed with environmentally friendly goodies as part of our green initiative project. The boxes were filled with items the students will need to start their NETA journey in September including recycled pens, pencils, notepads and a little recyclable pot of jelly beans to keep them sweet.

It was great to see so many students turn up and also some new fresh faces who signed up for our courses in September. Overall it was a fantastic fun-filled afternoon and we are looking forward to everyone starting in September.
