Equality and Diversity Policy

Introduction

NETA Training Trust accepts that in society, groups or individuals can be disadvantaged in obtaining jobs, gaining promotion and being recruited for training.  As an organisation that provides training to those who work, or wish to work in industry and commerce, NETA is committed to ensuring quality of opportunity for all.

This document sets out NETA's Equality & Diversity Policy. It will be strictly adhered to, except where there are legal limitations on employment to particular posts.

For the purposes of the policy, a learner is defined as one who attends a NETA training establishment for training, testing or assessment. This will include any temporary on-site location where NETA is undertaking assessments.

General Statement of Policy

NETA intends that no job applicant or employee, or applicant for training or learner, shall receive less favourable treatment because of their sex, marital status, race, colour, nationality, religion or creed, national or ethic origin, age, sexual orientation or disability, nor be disadvantaged by any other condition or requirement which cannot be shown to be justifiable.

Responsibilities

All employees and learners have a responsibility to accept their personal involvement in the practical application of this policy.

Code Of Practice

The working practices related to this Equality & Diversity Policy are embodied in a Code of Practice, a copy of which is held by all NETA Staff. This Code of Practice may be seen, on request, by direct application to any member of NETA's staff.
