Health & Safety Test

CITB-CONSTRUCTION SKILLS

HEALTH & SAFETY TEST

The CITB Construction Skills Health and Safety Test is the industry standard, taken by over 300,000 people every year. It is designed to ensure everybody working in construction has a minimum level of health and safety awareness.

Passing the test is an essential part of qualifying for the major card schemes such as CSCS and affiliated schemes. More and more clients and contractors are demanding these as basic essentials. Without the card, operatives will find it increasingly difficult to get on site.

A good health and safety record is everyone’s business. Employing qualified workers aware of all the basic health and safety issues on site, helps reduce accidents, has a positive effect on business profitability, reduces downtime and lessens the risk of litigation.

There are currently 13 versions of the test for different trades, tailored to give candidates specific health and safety skills relating to their job.

The test consists of computer based multiple choice questions lasting 45 minutes. It’s easy to use and candidates do not require specialised computer skills.

All the questions are taken from an approved selection covering topics such as site hazards, working at heights, using dangerous substances and understanding warning signs.
