Support and Additional Information

All our courses have minimum requirements for literacy and numeracy and pre course assessments may be undertaken to ensure that candidates meet the pre-requisites.

Support is available for candidates who may require help before undertaking the course. The support ranges from help for dyslexic learners, basic skills problems or updating mathematical skills, which may form part of the course. All enquiries will be dealt with sensitively and in confidence.

Aim

‘A1’ Assessors Course/Qualification (Previously known as D32/33)

The aim of this course is to raise the Candidates awareness of the differing methods of assessing others against nationally agreed occupational standards.

To provide the Candidate Assessor with opportunities to demonstrate competence as an assessor against the ‘A1’ National Standard issued by ENTO & Life Long Learning UK (LLLUK)

Pre Requisite

No previous skills or knowledge of assessment is required for the Course/Qualification, however Candidate Assessor MUST be occupationally competent in the subject that will be assessed.

The Candidate Assessors should be able to demonstrate that they have access to learners/candidates who are undertaking a competence based nationally recognised qualification

Directors’ Responsibilities For Health & Safety

Aim

To ensure that Directors and Senior Managers of small and medium sized enterprises understand the legislation governing Health and Safety in the UK and are fulfilling their responsibilities within their companies.

Level 3 Certificate in First Line Management

The aim of this course is to give delegates the knowledge and understanding required to be a first line manager

Pre Requisite

Target Audience

Optimum Number:

Course Duration: Minimum of 160 guided learning hours, excluding assessment, to be completed normally within one year, or up to a minimum of 3 years.
Induction lasting 3 hours
Minimum 7 hours tutorial guidance for assessments for full award

Training Aids

Flexible to suit the requirements of participants, sponsors and Centres. May include elements of open/distance/online learning as well as workshops to complement a recommended minimum of 30 hours of workshops.

Assessment

Each participant must complete to a satisfactory national standard
Either 5 work based assignments (approx. 3 – 3 hours each) based on a pair of modules or 10 shorter work based assignments (approx. 1 hour each)-1 per module
A project of approximately 2000 – 2200 words
A summative personal development record
A group meeting with (an assessed by) the External Verifier

Certification

Integrated: A single level 3 certificate in First Line Management is awarded on satisfactory completion of the whole programme and all assessments and requirements
Modular: One certificate in First Line Management is awarded on satisfactory completion of the learning and development and the work based assignment for a single module. Where a participant achieves all ten separate module credits and goes on successfully to complete the additional assessments requirements then a full level 3 certificate in First Line Management is awarded.
This course will be certified by the Institute of Leadership and Management.

Assessment

Each candidate must complete to a national standard
Segment review (internally assessed) to cover four of the seven optional segments
A work based assignment of not less than 1000 words, set by the ILM
