Staff Profile

Delivery Staff

A fundamental requirement, when recruiting delivery staff at NETA is that they are all skilled craft or technical personnel who have worked extensively in the relevant industry.

Continuing professional development is embedded within the procedures of the Company’s ISO9001:2000 quality system, and Training Quality Standard and Investor in People accreditations.

Delivery staff Profile

Instructional staff have all come from industry and have a wealth of experience within their field of delivery. They all hold relevant qualifications within their area of expertise and in addition have assessment and verification qualifications A or D units and presentation skills

As part of NETA’s policy of staff development all delivery staff have achieved or are working towards an EAL Direct Training and Support NVQ in learning and development.

Lesson observation and instructor feedback also ensure that quality of content and delivery are assured.

All delivery staff are registered with IFL and undertake at least 30 hours continuing professional development (CPD) each year

How do we ensure quality of delivery?

NETA has a Performance Planning and Monitoring Department (PPM), which is responsible for auditing the quality of delivery.

Their responsibilities include ensuring that the assessment, verification and NVQ procedures comply with Awarding Body requirements.

To this end, they will arrange regular development sessions with relevant staff to update them in the latest requirements.

They also carry out observations of teaching, learning and reviewing on every Instructor, using a checklist, which has been highlighted as good practice by both the Subject Learning Coach network and Ofsted.

Development issues are agreed and progressed.

This feeds into the staff development process.

How we develop our staff

NETA has a skill matrix for every position in the Company which gives a clear understanding of development and progression opportunities for staff.

All staff have regular appraisals, which focus on achievement, and development needs.

Training Plans are agreed which relate staff development with specific objectives within the Strategic Plan and the Quality Improvement Plan.

This enables staff to understand how their training and development will contribute to the achievement of the Company’s goals.
